The
Nights of Lights celebration, which runs from
Thanksgiving to Christmas Day at Guido Gardens, simply
gets bigger and better with each passing year. ADMISSION
IS FREE!
And while children of all
ages have thrilled to the animated light
displays, the brilliant rainbow, Noah’s Ark
display and the walk along Candy Cane Lane, this
past year's show had a special treat for the
younger visitors with the addition of a children’s
corner. Featured in this area were a Gingerbread
House and couple, Frosty the Snowman, Bambi, and
an animated lighted carousel.
Along with these new additions will
be favorite displays from years past, including a
patriotic display featuring an American flag, the Liberty
Bell and a 15-foot silhouette of the Statue of Liberty.
Visitors can also enjoy the Ten Commandments display
along with an animated hummingbird and flower, the
tree-climbing bears, the globe of the world with the
Sower, a growing flower, the colorful peacock, and an
animated fisherman and his boat. More than 1 million
lights are used to provide this unique Christmas
extravaganza.
In
addition to the lighted displays, visitors will also stop
for a brief moment in the glass-enclosed prayer chapel
and can linger at the animated stable scene which
includes Mary and Joseph with baby Jesus, the shepherds
and Wise Men. In the background, the voice of The Sower,
Dr. Michael Guido, retells the beloved story of the birth
of Christ.
The
lights will be turned on from Thanksgiving through
Christmas Day from 6 to 9 p.m. each evening. Visitors are
invited to come to the gardens and bring family and
friends to enjoy this special holiday outing.
Open from Thanksgiving through
Christmas Day from 6 to 9 PM Nightly
A fully animated manger scene is the focal point of the
decorations, with shepherds worshiping the newborn King,
as Mary rocks the Baby and Joseph motions visitors
closer.
A Bear fishes in one
of the pools, reminding us of the Lord's desire to make
us "fishers of men."
A Butterfly, symbolising the new birth, flutters its
wings in happiness!
A breath-taking Peacock proudly shows its plumage.
Noah's
Ark has landed! The animals are disembarking with joy and
the rainbow glows overhead as an eternal promise of
salvation.
A snowman band
fills the air with the sounds of the season.
The Flower Girl knows that watering
her plants will make them beautifully bloom. A helicopter represents the one that
takes Dr. Guido to many of his distant speaking
engagements, owned and piloted by friend and Board Member
Ellis Wood.
The Chapel in the Pines becomes even
more attractive adorned with lights!
Shepherds, out in the
fields, keeping watch over their flock by night.
An animated swan
gracefully swims the surface of one of the pools.
Angels circle
over the manger scene as a recording by Dr. Guido
tells of the birth of Christ from the Scripture.
A
pool reflects the image of a glowing angel.
A
light sculpture illustrates the Sower spreading the seed
to the world.
A light sculpture of the "Praying Hands" image
prompts visitors to remember the power of prayer.
Bring your friends to stroll through the
gardens-
you'll all be the happier for it!
